An honest comparison
General assistants are good at a great many things. Two of them — being accountable to a parent, and refusing to simply hand over the answer — are not among them, because they were never built for that job. This is what we do differently and why.

A safeguarding stop interrupts the lesson. Where the concern involves the home, the alert goes to a Designated Safeguarding Lead rather than to the parent account — a routing rule our legal counsel wrote and ratified.

The conversation usually continues. There is no designated safeguarding lead, and no adult who is accountable for what was said.

The answer is never the first thing offered. A revealed answer is expressly not recorded as evidence that the child has learned anything.

The answer is the product. It arrives first, complete, and looks the same whether the child understood it or not.
A general assistant will out-answer us on almost any question you can think of. That is the point: your child does not need a better answer, they need to be able to find it next time without us.
